We’re thrilled to announce another new partnership that will make communication easier for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community—and this time, it’s in Indiana! Indiana Telephone Relay Access Corporation (InTRAC) has teamed up with ASL Now to offer Direct Video Calling (DVC), a service that allows users to connect directly with InTRAC representatives in American Sign Language (ASL).
“InTRAC has been serving the state of Indiana since 1991 to provide relay services for all Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Speech Disabled Hoosiers. Technology has certainly advanced in our 30+ years of business, and our new partnership with ASL Now reflects that fantastic leap forward: opening access for our consumers using ASL to connect with us for video-based support directly one-on-one!”
– Amy Truman, Assistant Director, InTRAC
InTRAC also oversees Relay Indiana, which provides free telecommunications services that ensure people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or speech disabled can communicate effectively with representatives who understand them best. They offer several other services that users can get help with through DVC, including:
Through our partnership, InTRAC can now offer even more direct, ASL-friendly communication options. We’re thrilled about the positive impact this will have on accessibility and look forward to expanding our efforts to support the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community across the state.
